Great to see a woman on the cover of the EA Sports NHL video game for the first time ever:

The EA Sports NHL video game will have a split cover, with Trevor Zegras and Sarah Nurse donning the front of NHL 23.

The official covers for all versions of the game will be released later this week.

Zegras, one of the top rookies from the past NHL campaign, becomes the first Anaheim Ducks player selected for the main cover, with Teemu Selanne and Jonas Hiller adorning various international covers in the past.

Nurse is the first woman to appear on the cover, with the IIHF license allowing for proper women’s hockey action for the first time in NHL 22. Nurse was named Olympic MVP after her incredible performance that saw Canada win gold back in Beijing 2022.

A full breakdown of new features in NHL 23 and a confirmed release date is expected later this week.

NHL 16 planned to have a split cover with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews before Kane was removed due to sexual assault allegations.
