From rising temperatures and declining snowfall to worsening air pollution and unpredictable weather, climate change is disrupting training, competition schedules and athlete performance – as well as posing a growing harm to many of the countries that take part in Olympic Games. In light of this, over 450 Olympians, representing more than 90 countries and over 50 sports, signed an open letter to the next president of the International Olympic Committee, demanding that she put climate change at the heart of her work.
